About Zapitzy

Welcome to Zapitzy.    We exist because I have dedicated my life to finding out what cats actually need to feel safe, happy, and loved.

Growing up on a farm meant that animals were a significant part of my life from a very early age.  But none of them were pets.  That is until at the age of seven, on my way home from school, I encountered a scared stray cat and knew instantly that I had to rescue her.

Although she was not allowed inside the house, I built her a small sanctuary beneath our home, I fed her secretly, and spent hours gaining her trust. This was my first lesson in creating sanctuaries for skittish animals—and it changed everything about how I engage with cats and look at what they really need.

Over the years, I have nutured, watched and grown to understand their signals. I am currently completing a Diploma in Understanding Feline Anxiety because I believe the more we learn about our cats, the more we can become excellent cat parents.

All of our products are something that I would use for my own cats. I look for products that prioritize comfort and safety over looks, that address true problems rather than creating new ones. If a bed doesn't hold up under use, if a toy is dangerous, or if a feeding solution creates more of a mess than it prevents—it doesn't get past me.
